Nigeria-born Adeleke Withdraws From National Championships

Ireland star Rhasidat Adeleke has been forced to withdraw from the 123.ie National Track and Field Championships based on medical advice, BSNSports.com.ng sourced from RTE.

Born to Nigerian parents, Adeleke was due to compete in the heats of the 200m on Saturday afternoon as she continues her build-up to next month's World Championships in Budapest.

Earlier this week Ciara Mageean withdrew from the Nationals as a precaution ahead of her participation in the Hungarian capital.

In the last ten days, Adeleke joined the pro ranks after opting to forgo her senior year in the collegiate ranks as a student at the University of Texas.

She finished second behind 200m world champion Shericka Jackson in 22.36 at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial meeting in Hungary before clocking 44.99 when fourth in the 400m at Monaco's prestigious Diamond League meeting on Friday last.
