Nigeria's Flamingoes riot Egypt 4-0 in FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifier

Nigeria’s female U-17 were in action again at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Flamingoes hosted the Egyptian U-17 on Sunday and took the North Africans to the cleaners as they establish a healthy lead going into the second leg.

The Nigerian girls put four past the Baby Pharaohs.

After a rough start, Opeyemi Ajakaye scored in the 28th minute to put the Flamingos ahead.

In the 38th minute, Omowunmi Bello doubled the lead for the Flamingoes as they went to the halftime break with a two-goal cushion.

Miracle Usani made it three for Flamingoes in the 54th minute before Bello grabbed her second of the game eight minutes later to give the Flamingoes a solid four goals cushion heading into the second leg in a fortnight.

Should Flamingoes avoid more than a 4-0 defeat or earn a win in Egypt in two weeks’ time, they’ll face the winner of the game between Ethiopia and South Africa in the fourth and final round of qualifiers for the U-17 female World Cup in India.

The Flamingoes will now travel to face Egypt in the return leg scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2022.
