President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul, has been elected as the Vice President of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation, marking another significant milestone for Nigerian weightlifting on the international stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Dr. Abdul's election is widely regarded as recognition of Nigeria's growing influence in the sport, with the country consistently producing outstanding performances at major international competitions.

Weightlifting has remained one of Nigeria's strongest sports over the past decade, delivering numerous medals at the Commonwealth Games, African Championships and other global events. 

Nigerian lifters have continued to dominate the Commonwealth stage, reinforcing the country's reputation as a powerhouse in the sport.
