Nigeria’s Matthew Kuti Crowned Africa Youth Cup U19 Boys’ Singles Champion

Nigeria’s Matthew Kuti emerged as the champion of the Africa Youth Cup U19 boys’ singles, defeating compatriot Sultan Agunbiade 4-1 in the final on Wednesday in Accra, Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The all-Nigerian showdown at the Borteyman Sports Complex guaranteed the title stayed with the West African powerhouse.

Kuti delivered a commanding performance to claim the continental crown at the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup.

Agunbiade had earlier produced a major upset by beating top seed and defending African Youth Championships champion Wassim Essid of Tunisia 4-1 in the semi-finals, setting up the high-stakes final against his teammate.

The victory adds to Nigeria’s strong showing at the event, following their successful defence of the U19 boys’ team title earlier in the competition.
