Nigerian-Born Forward Leaves Arsenal After Five Year For USL Side

Nigerian-born forward Daniel Oyetunde has described his move to Fort Wayne FC as the “right next step” in his career following his departure from Arsenal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Fort Wayne confirmed on Friday that the former Arsenal academy striker has joined the club on a permanent deal, ending a five-year spell in North London where he progressed through the youth ranks.

Oyetunde featured across multiple age groups during his time with the Gunners, representing the club from Under-15 through to Under-21 level.

Speaking after the announcement, the forward expressed enthusiasm about embarking on a new chapter in senior football.

“I’d been at Arsenal for the past five years and played throughout the age groups there from Under-15 to Under-21,” Oyetunde said.

“I’ve chosen Fort Wayne because I believe it’s the right next step for my career as it’s men’s football in a good league.

“This new project is exciting, and I can’t wait to get started.”

The move offers Oyetunde the opportunity to transition fully into the senior game as he continues his development in the United States.
