Nigerian Forward Boost Newly Promoted EPL Club's Attack After Ajax Exit

Newly promoted Ipswich Town has officially confirmed the permanent signing of Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom from AFC Ajax for an undisclosed fee.

The Nigerian-born striker joins the club after ending his stint with the Dutch giants, where he featured in the Eredivisie and European competitions.

Akpom arrives with vast experience having played across several top leagues in Europe, including the English Premier League, Championship and the Dutch Eredivisie. 

His addition is expected to bolster the club’s attacking department ahead of the upcoming season.

In a statement announcing the transfer, the club expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of negotiations with Ajax and welcomed the forward to his new team.

The former Middlesbrough striker is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately as preparations continue for the new campaign.
