Miguel Azeez, a Nigeria-born Arsenal midfielder has joined Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

Azeez, 20, was born in England to a Nigerian father and a Spanish mother. His older brother Femi plays as a professional footballer for Reading.

Football. London reports that Azeez's move is a straight loan.

Kolo Toure is the current head coach of Wigan and has his history and links to the Gunners.

However, Miguel Azeez, who was recalled from his loan spell in Spain with UD Ibiza after struggling to establish himself in the team, was drawn to the Latics by another former Arsenal member.

Wigan assistant coach Kevin Betsy coached Azeez when he was the Arsenal U23 coach.

Betsy left the club in 2022 to become Crawley Town's head coach but departed after just five months.
