Nigerian goalkeeper, turned-m striker, Suleiman Shauibu, has successfully undergone surgery while on the books of DR Congo giants TP Mazembe, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The lanky player, who was converted into a striker following the club’s inability to sign new players due to a FIFA ban, required medical attention after sustaining a knee injury.

According to a statement released by the club, Shauibu underwent surgery on Friday, April 3, at the Clinique du Cap in Dakar, Senegal.
“Player Suleiman Shaibu underwent surgery this Friday afternoon, April 3, at the Clinique du Cap in Dakar, following a right knee injury.
He will remain in the Senegalese capital until the end of the month before returning to Lubumbashi.
“Rehabilitation for this type of injury typically takes several weeks, encompassing both healing and physical conditioning. However, current progress suggests the player will return as soon as possible.
“The club sends him its full support during this period and wishes him a speedy recovery, hoping to see him back on the field very soon,” the statement read.
Shauibu is now expected to begin his rehabilitation process, with hopes of making a swift return to action for the Congolese side.
