Nigerian Super-Cop Tunji Disu Wins Silver At U.S. Judo Championship

Veteran Judoka, Tunji Disu of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has emerged a silver medalist at the 33RD edition of the United States Open Judo Championship.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, who participated in the veteran category gave a good account of his Judo skills as he fought off stiff competitions from other Judokas, most especially world number One, Woods Glen of the United States to achieve the feat.
The Super-Cop who heads the renowned crime bursting departmen, Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has been an ardent practitioner of Judo over the years, despite his tight schedule
The Lagos-Island born combat sport expert attributed his victory to adequate preparation ahead of the US Competition.
This is not the first time the 56-year-old is winning laurels in Judo. Disu clinched two gold medals at the 1990 edition of the National Sports Festival in Bauchi and also a recipient of two gold medals at the Nigeria Police Games he participated in.
In November 2021, Disu won gold at the first veteran championships organized by the Nigeria Police, through his office as the Chairman, NPF Judo Association.
