Nigerian Table Tennis Stars Suffer Ranking Declines
By Admin
Nigeria’s leading table tennis players have experienced notable setbacks in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Quadri Aruna, a former African number one and Nigeria’s most decorated table tennis star, has dropped 20 places to settle at World No. 76.
The decline also sees him fall to fourth on the African continent.
Fellow Nigerian Olajide Omotayo also slid in the rankings, dropping six positions to World No. 193. He now ranks 12th in Africa.
The dual decline highlights a challenging period for Nigerian table tennis, as both players look to bounce back and reclaim their previous standing.
Aruna and Omotayo are expected to use upcoming international tournaments to regain momentum and improve their world positions.
The latest rankings come at a critical time as preparations intensify for major competitions on the horizon.
