Nikyu: Rivers United Deserve To Win The NPFL Title

Nasarawa United coach Bala Nikyu has said that newly crowned NPFL champions Rivers United deserved the title, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

The Solid Miners on Sunday defeated the Pride of Rivers 2-1 but the defeat meant little to the champions while the win meant a lot to the host going by their position on the NPFL log.

Nikyu, said Rivers is the only team that played with relaxation and command.

"They (Rivers United) deserved to win the league, either you like it or not any team that has the ability to play football with command, that is to relax when playing the game.

"I don't think there is any team in that position than Rivers United. They deserved the position they are," he said.

The win moved Nasarawa to the 10th position on the table with 47 points in 35 games.
