Nilayo Launches Three-Day Medal Distribution Exercise for Lagos Marathon Participants

Nilayo Sports Management Limited has commenced the distribution of medals to runners who did not receive theirs on race day during the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The sports management and marketing company announced that the exercise began on Friday, March 13, 2026, and will run until Sunday, March 15, 2026, across designated locations in Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the organisers, the initiative is aimed at addressing concerns among participants while fulfilling their commitment to ensure that every legitimate runner who completed the race receives a medal in recognition of their achievement.

To facilitate a smooth collection process, distribution centres have been set up at selected PUMA retail outlets — including those located at Circle Mall in Lekki, Jakande in Lekki Phase 2, and Ikeja City Mall — as well as the marathon office at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.

At the PUMA store locations, medals will be available for collection from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday and Sunday collections will run from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the marathon office at Teslim Balogun Stadium will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Yetunde Olopade, emphasised the importance of ensuring that all runners receive their medals.

“We understand the value each runner places on their medal as a symbol of endurance and dedication,” she said. “Following the massive surge in registrations for our most recent edition, our priority has been to ensure that every athlete who legitimately crossed the finish line receives their well-deserved reward.”

Participants are encouraged to visit any of the designated collection centres within the stipulated hours to claim their medals.

The organisers noted that the exercise reflects Nilayo’s commitment to maintaining professional standards while delivering a memorable experience for the thousands of athletes who participate annually in the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading road races.
