Nimrod Applauds Customs CG On Volleyball League Sponsorship

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Musa Nimrod on Monday commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr Bashir Adeniyi, for sponsoring the Volleyball Premier League, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The just concluded 2024 Comptroller-General of Customs Volleyball Premier League ended on Sunday with a whole lot of excitement and joy.

Nimrod expressed that the support of Comptroller-General of Customs has helped the development of the sport in the country.

According to him, the support have really relived him on the management of the board of the federation for organising the league.

“For six years , I have been organising the league without any support from any private organisations.

“I specifically thank the Comptroller General of Customs, for coming to our aid to sponsor the league."

According to him, all the game played throughout the first phase have been streaming live on Facebook.

“We have about 10,000 and 15,000 viewers who were watching the 12 games daily.

 “The support of Comptroller-General of Customs has created opportunities for only local players to showcase their talents and has significantly increased the competitiveness of the league.

“The Nigerian Customs Service has pledged to increase prize money, doubling the initial amount to further motivate players and teams,” he said.

Nimrod emphasized the importance of addressing technical, financial, and security issues to ensure the smooth running of the league’s in the next phases.

He said that the NVBF would continue to develop volleyball in the country and also to enhance the league’s competitiveness on both national and international levels.

However, the 2024 Comptroller-General Volleyball Premier League which started on Aug. 26 ended on Sunday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
