Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon forward Ajara Njoya has expressed her disappointment after losing out on the 2022 African Women Player of the year, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Italian-based forward was nominated alongside Super Falcons Asisat Oshoala and Zambia Grace Chanda but Njoya lost out to the Nigerian star.

While reacting to the outcome of the award, Njoya frowned at the judges but promised to continue working hard.

"A lioness never gives up as long as I have the talent nothing will stop me from doing what I'm capable of.

"Afterwards, there are decision-makers who are there they think that I don't deserve it, it's not a problem I'll continue to work," she said.

Njoya was in action during the 2022 African Cup of Nations quarter final in which Super Falcons prevailed by 1-0 while Oshoala was out injured.
