No January Departure For Iheanacho, Ndidi, Except 2023 AFCON- Leicester City Manager
Sampson Adedeji
Enzo Maresca, the manager of the English Championship side Leicester City has debunked the rumours of Nigeria's Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi leaving the club in January, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Both players are presently in the last part of their contracts and according to 'Bossman rule' they can open a discussion with new clubs by January 2024.
The Foxes are performing creditably well in the Championship this season on their quest to return to the Premier League next season.
The Nigerian stars have been instrumental in the superb performance of the club and speculation has reached the top gear about them leaving during the winter transfer.
“These players’ futures will be resolved in no time,†Maresca replied when asked about the future of Ndidi and Iheanacho.
“They are key players and we will see what happens in January but I don’t see them (Ndidi and Iheanacho) leaving except for international duty", the manager said.
Iheanacho has scored in the last 3 appearances for the team and Ndidi has also scored once this season.
