By Our Reporter

Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga has been formally charged with sexual assault without consent in Norway, according to a report by AfricaSoccer.com. His club, Molde FK, confirmed the development in an official statement released on Friday evening.

The 18-year-old, who is regarded as one of Nigeria’s promising young midfield prospects in Europe, has been suspended from all training sessions and competitive matches pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.

In its statement, Molde FK disclosed that Daga has fully cooperated with Norwegian police throughout the investigation and has attended all required interrogations. The club added that the suspension will remain in effect for the foreseeable future.

Daga has since returned to Nigeria, but is expected to travel back to Norway ahead of scheduled court hearings. The case is set to be heard in March 2026 at the Nordmøre and Romsdal District Court.

The matter remains subject to judicial process, and no further comments have been made by the player or the club at this stage.
