Nottingham Forest-bound Nigeria striker says goodbye to his teammates

Nottingham Forest transfer target Taiwo Awoniyi has reportedly said goodbye to his Union Berlin teammates as his move to the City Ground edges closer, BSNSports.com.ng gathered.


The report added that the former Liverpool starlet left Alte Försterei at 1005 hours with a trolley case to his car, got in and left the Union compound as his teammates were in the dressing room preparing for their first joint training session of the pre-season.


According to German media outlet BZ Berlin been monitored by BSNSports.com.ng, the Nigerian striker has said goodbye to his teammates at the club's training ground prior to the start of a training session, before leaving the Alte Forsterei with a suitcase at 10:05am. The German outlet also stated that Awoniyi is in talks with the Reds ahead of a move this summer window and is 'expected' to sign this week.




The 24-year-old has been at the Bundesliga side since September 2020 when he joined from Liverpool originally on loan, before signing for Die Eisemen permanently last summer for £6.5 million. After scoring 25 goals in 65 games for the German outfit, Awoniyi has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Steve Cooper's side.
