Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, remains confident that Nigeria can still secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, despite their shaky start to the qualifying campaign, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After six rounds of matches, Nigeria are fourth in Group C with seven points six points behind group leaders South Africa, who have amassed 13 points.

Despite the gap, Nwabali believes the Super Eagles are still in contention to qualify.

“We are working towards it. I know it’s not going to be easy. Just because we are Nigerian doesn’t mean we will win every game. But we are going to give it everything. We still have a lot of hope, and we believe qualification is possible,” Nwabali said during William Troost-Ekong’s charity match held in Lagos.

The Super Eagles are expected to resume their World Cup qualification campaign in September following a busy international window in June.
