Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was named Man of the Match following an outstanding performance in Nigeria’s Third Place playoff victory over Egypt on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nwabali emerged as the hero of the encounter, saving two crucial penalties during the shootout to give Nigeria a decisive edge, especially after Dele-Bashiru missed the Super Eagles’ opening kick. His composure and shot-stopping ability proved vital as Nigeria prevailed 4-2 on penalties.

The match ended goalless after 90 minutes of regulation time, forcing the contest into a shootout where Nwabali’s brilliance sealed Nigeria’s bronze medal finish in the tournament.

Meanwhile, tournament hosts Morocco are set to face Senegal in the final of the 2025 Africa Nations Cup. The title decider will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
