Nwakali Hits Stunning Strike In Ponferredina Defeat

It was a mixed feeling for Nigeria's Super Eagles and Ponferredina midfielder Kelechi Nwakali on Sunday as his goal counted for little in their 1-2 home loss to Real Zaragoza, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The skilful midfielder joined the Spanish second division side this summer after his mutual contract termination with SD Huesca.

Nwakali has been a regular with the club since his arrival and he was able to score his first goal for the club on Sunday.

Guiliano put the away side ahead in the 14th minute but Nwakali hit a stunning strike in the 44th minute and sent the home crowd into unending excitement.

Real Zaragoza dominated the second half of the game and their efforts were well rewarded as Guiliano completed his brace in the 51st minute.

The home side fought hard to come back into the game but Zaragoza midfielders did enough to cut the supplies from the Nigeria international who was busy dictating the pace of the game in the midfield.
