Nwakali To Be Back To Full Fitness In Three Weeks

Super Eagles and SD Ponferradina midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali has announced he will spend more than three weeks in the treatment room before staging a return. 

The 24-year-old who was part of Nigeria national team to the 2021 African Nations Cup in Cameroon injured last weekend during his team's SD Ponferradina 1-0 loss in the Segunda Division club at Malaga CF.

Confirming his return, Kelechi took to his social media and posted, â€œRoad to be back, see you in 3 weeks,” Nwakali announced on Twitter accompanied by a photo showing that he has already begun his rehabilitation.

The Super Eagles ace will most likely not be part of the team's plan for this year. 

With the latest news on his injury, he will miss the home games against Burgos and Lugo as well as the trip to Levante.

He should be back in action for the home game against Villarreal II on January 8, 2023.
