OFFICIAL : Gov Mbah Appoints Amobi Ezeaku as Rangers Int'l General Manager

The Enugu State government, led by governor Peter Mbah has appointed Barrister Amobi Ezeaku as the new General Manager of Rangers International, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Team Manager of the club takes over the role from Davidson Owumi, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL board. 

 It will be recalled that Amobi was with the Flying Anteoples as the team manager when they emerged champions of the 2015/16 Nigeria premier Football League (NPFL) season to end a 32-years title drought. 

 Before he resigned in 2021 to pursue his career in football management were he badged two certificates – FIFA and UEFA in this regard, his appointment was contained in a circular issued by the government and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia on Wednesday adding that the engagement is with immediate effect.

The General Manager’s position at Rangers has been vacant for more than two years following the departure of former occupier, Mr Davidson Owumi

Amobi will be working closely with the rest of his management to bring the Former NPFL champions back to the promise land, as the team continues on their Pre season preparation ahead of the 2023/24 NPFL season, which is slated to kickoff on September 8, 2023.
