OFFICIAL: Kano Pillars Relegated From NPFL To Lower Division

OFFICIAL:

Four-time league champions, Kano Pillars have been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday after a defeat to Nasarawa United at the Jos Olympic Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kano place in the relegation was confirm after Dakada beat Enyimba 2-0 in Aba to move to 46 points with a game to the end of the season while Kano Pillars have just 42 points with just a game against Shooting Stars.

This is after the League Management Company (LMC) decided to deduct three points on account of unprofessional conduct in their Week 31 fixture against Dakkada at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

It is unbelievable one of NPFL teams will go down. It didn’t just work for them this time. Despite having 2 jersey sponsors, they couldn’t save themselves from dropping points.

It got worst when the NFF deducted 3 points from them during the week due to fans violence and will be playing in the National League for the first time in 20 years.

The LMC in its summary jurisdiction of April 17, in a matchday 23 fixture between Kano Pillars FC and Katsina United FC, had imposed a sanction of forfeiture of three points accruing to the club in the event of any similar breach.

In this case, there was a loss of property or valuables which they failed to implement

Kano Pillars was formed in 1990 from the combination of WRECA FC, Kano Golden Stars and Bank of the North FC.

The 2022 NPFL season has been marred by 11 serious unprofessional conducts at match venues, which include harassment of match officials, vandalism and arson plus inadequate security for the media.
