OFFICIAL:Fatai Osho Targets CAF Inter-Club Championship Ticket For Akwa United
By Emmanuel Chinedu
Akwa United new head coach, Fatai Osho, has revealed his ambition is to take the Promise Keepers back to the top of the league, ahead of the commencement of the 2023/24 NPFL season.
The former Enyimba Int'l and Rivers United chief coach replaces Deji Ayeni, who left the club after the expiration of his contract last season.
Fatai, who was part of the Rivers United coaching staff that won the 2021/2022 NPFL title, took charge of the team during the Naija Super 8 tournament in Lagos last month.
While speaking during the unveiling ceremony held at the Conference Room of the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo, Fatai revealed that his ambition is to help Akwa United back to the top in the league and also hailed the management led by Elder Paul Bassey for being professional and supportive.
" Yes, I'm very happy to be here, " said Fatai.
"My ambition is to help the club fight for every title and take the team back to the continent."
" However, I would also like to hail the management of the club led by the Chairman, Elder Paul Bassey for also being professional and supportive to the team."
Akwa United will now be expected to challenge the likes of Enyimba Int'l, Rivers United, Remo Stars, and Rangers Int'l for the league title, when the 2023/24 NPFL season kicks off on September 9, 2023.
