Amechi Obiageri has described representing Team Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as a blessing and she's willing to do it more times," BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Obiageri surprised bookmakers by winning a bronze medal in the women's discuss event on Tuesday.

While reacting to the achievement, the US-based athlete said she was excited to have made the team to the Games.

" I'm happy to be representing Nigeria in the senior team.

"It's my first senior competition after graduating from the University and I'm happy and grateful for the exposure.

" It's a blessing for me because every time I get to put on green and white, I remember that not everyone gets to put it on, so I'm glad to represent my people," said Obiageri.
