Official: Nigerian Forward Joins FC Basel

FC Basel 1893 has confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Philip Otele from Al-Wahda FC in the UAE.

Otele joins the Swiss club on loan until the end of the season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian will wear the number 7 shirt, FC Basel also has the option to make the deal permanent. 

The club had initially shown interest in Otele last summer, but the transfer did not materialize.

Otele moved to Al-Wahda from CFR Cluj in Romania last summer, he also enjoyed successful spells at UTA Arad in Romania and Kauno Zalgiris in Lithuania, where his athleticism and goal-scoring ability made him a standout player.
