Ogbonda: Rangers "Battle Ready" For Ozoro Showdown With Warri Wolves
Precious Oham
Rangers International Assistant Captain, Evans Ogbonda has declared that they are "battle ready" to face Warri Wolves in their upcoming NPFL match day 2 clash in Ozoro, Delta State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ogbonda assured the club's legion of fans that the selected squad is fired up and ready to do what's necessary against the newly-promoted Warri Wolves, a team that already turned heads with a shock away victory over Katsina United on the opening day of the season. "We're ready. We are going out to seek a good result," Ogbonda stated. "Since they went away to get a result on match day one while we drew at home, we can still go to Ozoro and get a point or points. We are battle ready and we assure our fans that we have the belief that we can do it." The former youth international acknowledged the challenge ahead but exuded confidence in his teammates. "Everybody is okay and fine for this fixture and anybody chosen by the coach will deliver the goods," he said. "We are well motivated." While acknowledging the time it will take for the squad's many new players to fully blend, Ogbonda expressed optimism for the season ahead. "The large number of new players in the squad is taking time to blend but the talent available will lead us to pick a continental ticket if we miss the trophy by any chance," he added. Rangers will be hoping to repeat their last performance at this venue, where they secured all three points against Warri Wolves. A positive result in Ozoro would provide a much-needed boost after their home draw on the opening day of the 2025/2026 NPFL season
