Ogunbote Urges NPFL Referees To Elevate Their Performance

The coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League side Shooting Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote, has urged referees in the country to elevate their performance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Oluyole Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat to Rivers United on Thursday, and the coach attributed the team's defeat to poor performance of the center referee.

"Referees often face criticism, but I focus on their challenging role. "However, to maintain NPFL's credibility and acknowledge player dedication, referees must elevate performance.

"Respect is a 2-way street. Do better, we can ensure a fair and enjoyable league experience for all", he said on his social media handle.
