Prince Babatunde Ogunja, General Manager of Sunshine Stars has tasked players of the Owena Whales on the need to be at the very best ahead of the 2022/23 NPFL season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

Ogunja made the call on Tuesday while addressing the team shortly after their training session at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

The ex international stated: "We want the best team for the new season, a solid team that will be able to compete favourably. You all need to understand that this is Sunshine Stars where we accept nothing less. Need you (players) to work with the coaching crew to stay ready and be at the top of your game as the IMC and NFF could order the start of the league anytime.

"Some of you will not be able to make it here, that doesn't mean you are bad or inferior, we didn't see your best and so you have to be excused. Every thing is on merit; it is what you put in on the field that will speak for you, so you have to buckle up." Ogunja admonished the trialists among the group.

Sunshine Stars continue to build for the new season under the guidance of Edith Agoye and will aim to enter the concluding phase of its preparations in the coming days.
