Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye produced a moment of brilliance by saving a penalty, but it was not enough to prevent Udinese from falling to a 3-0 defeat against Bologna in their Serie A encounter on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Bologna took control of the game early and were handed a major opportunity to extend their lead when the referee pointed to the spot.

Riccardo Orsolini stepped up to take the penalty, but Okoye guessed correctly and made a superb stop to deny the Italian forward, keeping Udinese temporarily in the contest.

Despite the heroics from the Nigerian shot-stopper, Udinese struggled defensively, allowing Bologna to score three goals without reply and secure a dominant victory.

Okoye, who has been in impressive form this season, received praise from fans and pundits for his performance, but the result leaves Udinese in a challenging position as they continue their fight to climb the Serie A table.

Udinese will now shift focus to their next fixture as they seek to bounce back and regain momentum.
