Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has expressed his joy after making his return to action following nearly three months on the sidelines due to injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Okoye had been out since December after suffering a wrist injury in a match against Genoa. However, he marked his comeback on Monday, featuring in the 1-1 draw against Lazio.

"I'm very happy, both for myself and for the team. We’re all pleased, and we want to keep going like this," he told the club’s official website.

"It was tough being out, but I’ve come back to a team that has improved over these months. Padelli, along with the entire squad, supported me a lot, and I’m really grateful. He’s a fantastic goalkeeper and a great person."

So far this season, Okoye has made 15 league appearances under coach Kosta Runjaic.
