Olarinoye Wins Team Nigeria First Gold Medal In BirminghamÂ

Team Nigeria on Saturday claimed gold and its first medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Adijat Adenike Olarinoye won gold after lifting a combined total of 203kg, a Games record to win the women's 55kg Weightlifting event.Â
Adijat came under pressure, but did set two Commonwealth Games records, lifting 90kg and 92kg in the Snatch category of women's 55kg Weightlifting event.
India's Sorokhaniban settled for the silver, while England's Fraser settled for the bronze.
Meanwhile, it sad way to miss out on the podium after Stella Kingsley lost the Silver medal in by 2kg, and Bronze by 1kg, lifting a total weight of 17the 0kg from the Snatch, Clean and Jerk categories.
Kingsley attempted 98kg on her last attempt, got two greens and a red from the umpires, but was not given the lift.Â
