Former Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to a Libyan club, a transfer that could see him lose his chance to obtain South African citizenship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndah would have been eligible to apply for South African citizenship in September after completing five years of residency in the country.

However, his proposed move to Libya could affect those plans. His agent, Mike Makaab, explained that the decision is primarily a career choice, with Ndah focused on returning to regular competitive football and performing at a high level.

The Nigerian-born defender left Orlando Pirates in January before joining Stellenbosch FC for a short spell.

He is now expected to begin a new chapter in North Africa as he seeks to revive his career.

The move to Libya is expected to be finalised in the coming days, bringing an end to his spell in South Africa and potentially closing the door on his prospects of acquiring South African citizenship.
