Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has praised Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman following his decisive contribution in UEFA Champions League action, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Lookman played a key role as Atlético Madrid secured qualification for the semi-finals despite a 2-1 home defeat to FC Barcelona. 

The Nigerian forward scored Atlético’s only goal of the match, ensuring their progression on a 3-2 aggregate after a 2-0 first-leg victory.

Reacting to the performance, Oliseh described Lookman as an influential figure in the team, highlighting his growing importance on the big stage.

“Ademola Lookman has just qualified for the Champions League semi-finals with Atlético Madrid despite a 2-1 loss to Barcelona,” Oliseh said.

“Talk about being an absolute influential player. I am extremely happy for Lookman. His goal today made the difference. He is also showing so much maturity that is quite remarkable.”
