Despite the Super Eagles facing a tough challenge in their qualifying group, former Nigerian international Seyi Olofinjana remains confident in the team's chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A recent draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe has further complicated Nigeria’s path to qualification.

However, Olofinjana, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, believes the Super Eagles still have what it takes to make it.

“Qualifying for the World Cup is not impossible—anything can happen in football,” Olofinjana told Brila FM.

“The talent is there; it’s just a matter of how we manage it.”

He emphasized the importance of unity and commitment, adding, “It’s a collective responsibility, and there has to be a genuine desire to get things right.”

Olofinjana also expressed concern that top talents like Victor Osimhen could miss the tournament if the team fails to qualify, calling it a potentially unfortunate outcome for Nigerian football.
