Olympic Eagles Smile To Bank As Seyi Makinde, Balele, Ahmed Musa Redeem Cash Promises
The players and officials of Nigeria U23 Eagles are filled with joy with their 3-1 aggregate victory over Tanzania, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The Olympic Eagles on Saturday in Ibadan defeated Tanzania 2-0 and qualified for the last round after a 1-1 draw in Dar es Salam.
Oyo State governor, Eng Seyi Makinde had on Friday promised the team $25,000 while Chairman Task Force of National Teams, Balele Kurfi promised the team $20,000 for their victory over the two legs.
Seyi Makinde had gift the team N100 Million a day before ahead of their second leg match while report has it that Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa has released the sum of One Million to the team. The former Leicester City winger promised a N500,000 per goal for the team before the U23 handed Tanzania a 2-0 win.
Member of Task Force of National Team, Bukola Olopade was reportedly promised Five thousand dollars to the team. With the victory, Nigeria U23 team is expecting Fifty thousand dollars from the trio of Balele Kurfi, Seyi Makinde and Bukola Olopade.
Nigeria will now face Guinea who walked over Uganda to qualify for the last round. The winner between Nigeria and Guinea will play at the CAF U23 African Nations Cup in Morocco. The African Nations Cup serves as Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier.
