Olympic Qualifier: Plumptre Sends Goodwill Message To Super Falcons

By Sampson Adedeji

Ahead of the doubleheader of the Olympic qualifier against Ethiopia, Al-Ittihad defender, Ashleigh Plumptre has sent a goodwill message to Nigeria's Super Falcons, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite being among the top performers in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, Plumptre was not invited for the qualifier against Ethiopia.

The lanky left-back joined the Saudi Arabia league side this summer following the contract expiration with Leicester City Women's team.

Just before the first leg, on Wednesday morning, Plumptre sent a message to the team in Addis Ababa.

"Wishing my girls the best of luck in the upcoming Olympic qualifier. I believe I must listen to my body to bring all of myself to this special team." She wrote.

"Always proud to wear the Super Falcons green and I look forward to representing the colours again soon.

All in good time. Good luck sisters", she said.
