Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic boxing qualifier in Dakar Senegal, the vice president of the Uganda Olympic Committee Moses Mwase has declared the readiness for their boxers to upstage Nigeria and other competitors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Mwase made the statement on Wednesday morning when the boxers were leaving the country for Senegal.
He regretted some challenges faced by the boxers and further confirmed that their bonuses and allowances had been paid.
"Uganda is ready for action to compete for the available slots in the Olympics.
"Despite the shortcomings here and there, we managed to organize a training camp as the boxers prepare to give their best at the qualifiers in a bid to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris, France come 2024.
"We have fully facilitated the entire training, competition, and day-to-day kit with the requirements including the allowances that have been paid in advance", he said.
