Omeruo on Chelle's Appointment: "We Have to Be More Serious Now"

Following the appointment of Eric Sekou Chelle as head coach of the Super Eagles, Kenneth Omeruo has emphasized the need for utmost seriousness from the players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Omeruo, who plays for Kasimpasa in Turkey, shared his thoughts during a live session on his X handle, which was co-hosted with his teammate Wilfred Ndidi.

"Everyone has to be serious now; it's like an open trial," Omeruo said.

"Some of us haven’t been playing regularly, so we need to prove to the manager that we deserve a spot in the team if selected."

He also pointed out the impressive organization of the Malian team, citing their performance in both friendlies and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as an example of solid structure.

"I believe Coach Chelle has something to offer the team," he continued.

"With the talent we have in the Super Eagles, he should have no trouble getting us to play the way he envisions."
