Omoyele On Scoresheet As Khenchela Moves One Point Off CAF Confederation Spot
By Gbenga Gboyega
Nigerian striker Tosin Omoyele scored the only goal of the game for his club as USM Khenchela beat Entêntê Setif 1-0 at home to move to the 5th spot on the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 table BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 26-year-old moved up north from West Africa last summer for an undisclosed fee, after completing a move from NPFL's Kastina United to Algeria's USM Khenchela on the 16th of August 2022.
Omoyele first found the back of the net against MC Algiers, scoring one of two goals in a 2-0 win, before netting his team's only goal on Wednesday night, taking his league tally to two goals plus an assist (vs ASO Chief).
Khenchela in fifth position, are now one point adrift of the single qualifying spot for the CAF Confederation Cup having garnered 35 points from 23 games, with third-placed MC Alger having 36 points.
Qualification for CAF competition from the Algerian Ligue 1 relies on the top three spots on the log, with the first and second-placed teams progressing to the CAF Champions League while the third team plays in the Confederation Cup.
