Onuachu Begged To Leave Genk-De Conde

KRC Genk Director of Football Dimitry De Conde has revealed why the club allowed their top marksman Paul Onuachu to leave the club at the crucial moment of the season, BSNSports.com.ng report.
The Limburgers are sitting pretty well on top of the Jupiler Pro League table with Nigeria's Super Eagles forward also leading the top scorers' chat with 17 goals.
Onuachu joined the English Premier League side Southampton on transfer deadline day after both parties agreed to a move.
De Conde said Onuachu came to appeal to him and said this may be his last chance to move.
"At 13 o'clock I had a conversation with a very emotional Paul. He had trained very well, you really can't blame that boy.
But he felt his dream slip away again. 'Please, let me go. This could be my very last chance ", he begged.
I had to make it clear to him that there were two conditions under which the deal could succeed. One: the numbers had to be correct. And two: we had to be able to bring in a replacement.
"I had already had a conversation about it with trainer Wouter Vrancken in the morning.
At a certain point you can no longer say 'no' on a human level', Wouter agreed. Especially because certain promises were made", he told HBVL.
