Onuachu’s Double Seals Comfortable Win for Trabzonspor
By BSN Sports
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his impressive run of form on Saturday night, scoring twice as Trabzonspor secured a commanding 3–0 victory over Samsunspor at the 19 Mayıs Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the first half, rising above his markers to head home a precise cross from Albanian attacker Ernest Muçi and give the visitors early control of the contest.
Onuachu struck again nine minutes from time, showing composure inside the box to convert a well-weighted pass from Okay Yokuşlu and effectively put the result beyond doubt.
Trabzonspor capped the dominant display in stoppage time when Muçi calmly converted a penalty to complete the emphatic win.
The brace took Onuachu’s tally to 16 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions since joining the Turkish side on loan from Premier League club Southampton in the summer, underlining his importance to the team’s attacking output.
The performance also earned the Nigerian a place in Trabzonspor’s history books. According to Opta Can, Onuachu became the first foreign player to score in both league fixtures against Samsunspor in a single Süper Lig season.
He had previously found the net in the reverse fixture, a 1–1 draw played at Papara Park on August 31, 2025.
The victory keeps Trabzonspor firmly in contention for the Süper Lig title. The Black Sea Storm remain third on the table with 45 points from 21 matches, just one point behind second-placed Fenerbahçe and four adrift of leaders Galatasaray.
With Onuachu in prolific form, Trabzonspor appear well positioned to sustain their challenge as the season progresses.
