Onyeka Disappointed Missing Out On Super Eagles Squad For World Cup Qualifiers

Augsburg midfielder Frank Onyeka has voiced his disappointment after being left out of the Super Eagles squad for their recent World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 27-year-old, currently on loan, was one of the surprise omissions from the team list. Speaking with OmaSports, Onyeka admitted he was unhappy with the decision but respected the coach’s judgment.

 "I was quite sad about it, but again, the coach knows best. He knows the players he wants to use. Hopefully, I’ll be with the team for the next games," he said.

Onyeka could have a chance to return to international action in May, as the Super Eagles are set to compete in the Unity Cup, with all four matches scheduled to take place at Brentford Stadium.
