Orban Knows Fate Today As Belgian Authority Demand Two-Match Ban, Fine

Super Eagles forward, Gift Orban could get two-match ban and €1,500 fine over his misconduct in his team last weekend Belgian League game, BSN sports.com.ng reports.

Gift Orban in the 45th received a marching order in his team 2-1 home win over Eupen on Sunday. He was adjudged to push and punch an opponent during the match leading to the red card.

Meanwhile, Belgian authority was not cooled with his behavior and demanded severe punishment for Orban.

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that the Gent forward’s action involved “physical misconduct”, and more specifically “a brutal push with high intensity”.

The body has now requested for at least a two-match suspension with a fine of €1,500.

Gent could appeal the decision as it was Orban’s first red card in 57 professional matches; a game’s suspension and fine less than €1500.

It is believed that a final decision will be made on Tuesday.
