South Africa's Betway Premiership giants, Orlando Pirates, are not keen on signing former Abia Warriors defender Collins Nwoburuoke, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced on IDiski.
Nwoburuoke was assessed by the Pirates two weeks ago, but he is now back with Durban City as he seeks to secure a contract.
The centre-back arrived in South Africa during the pre-season and participated in training with The Citizens as they prepared for the upcoming season.
The newly promoted Betway Premiership team initially showed interest in signing him and even applied for a work permit.
However, the application faced issues, causing the transfer process to stall. While these issues were being addressed, Nwoburuoke underwent a trial with the Pirates, who were interested in evaluating his abilities.
After several days of training under the supervision of coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Pirates ultimately decided not to sign the player.
Last week, the Nigerian defender returned to Durban, rejoining Durban City, who remain interested in adding him to Gavin Hunt’s squad.
