Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has praised Galatasaray’s remarkable performance in their recent Champions League clash with LaLiga powerhouse Atletico Madrid, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Diego Simeone’s side took an early lead through Giuliano Simeone, but Marcos Llorente’s goal ensured an exciting first half that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

"We understood that we would be up against a formidable opponent before the match," Osimhen reflected in a recent media interview.

 "I want to commend my teammates for their relentless effort throughout the 90 minutes; we showcased our capabilities against a great team.

 "As we look back at the match, it felt like a 50-50 contest. We had opportunities to seize the game at various moments. I’m proud of how we performed and excited about what lies ahead."

Galatasaray's next challenge is a highly anticipated encounter against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and Osimhen is determined for his squad to approach it with a focused mindset.

 "Manchester City is undoubtedly one of the best teams in the world," he acknowledged.

 "We’ll take it one game at a time and focus on our performance in the league first before shifting our attention to that pivotal match.

 "We know it won’t be easy, but I have complete faith in my team. I’m optimistic about the challenge ahead. If we play with the same intensity and spirit as we did against Atletico, we can certainly come away with a positive result."
