Victor Osimhen delivered a commanding performance to inspire Nigeria’s Super Eagles to a 2–0 victory over Algeria in their Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal clash on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Galatasaray striker opened the scoring shortly after the restart, finding the net in the 48th minute to give Nigeria the lead. Osimhen then turned provider, setting up Akor Adams for the second goal minutes later to seal the Super Eagles’ passage into the semifinals.

Osimhen’s influence and all-round display earned him the Man of the Match award, as confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The win keeps Nigeria’s title hopes alive as the three-time African champions prepare to face tournament hosts Morocco in the semifinal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The encounter is scheduled for January 14, 2025, at the Rabat Stadium.
