Osimhen Battles Mané, Salah, 8 Others African Stars For 2023 CAF POTY Award

Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen has been listed in the top 10 nominees for the CAF Player of the Year Award, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
The 24-year-old who had a super campaign at Napoli last season scoring 31 goals in all competitions and helping the club win their first Scudetto in 33 years, is in a tough duel.
Osimhen will battle reigning Player of the Year winner Sadio Mane and former winner Mohamed Salah and eight others for the continent football body's top award.
Recall, earlier in November, CAF released a list of 30 players for the CAF POTY awards, and Osimhen was on the list.
The list which has been prone to 10, has Angussa Anguissa, Riyad Mahrez, Vincent Aboubakar, Achraf Hakimi, Yacine, Sofyan Amarabat, Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou and Yousef en-Neusiri.
The ultimate winner for the award will be decided after votes from a voting panel consisting of CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches and Captains of Member Associations.
The Awards Gala will take place on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
