Osimhen Expected to Be Fit for Fenerbahçe Derby, Says Galatasaray President Özbek

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has assured supporters that Victor Osimhen is on track to return in time for the highly anticipated Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on December 1, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osimhen is currently sidelined with an injury sustained while on international duty with Nigeria last Sunday. The 26-year-old has been ruled out of Galatasaray’s Super Lig fixture against Gençlerbirliği on Saturday, but the club remains optimistic about his swift recovery.

Speaking to Hürriyet, Özbek expressed confidence that the striker’s rehabilitation is progressing well.

“He’ll likely have a recovery period of approximately two weeks. Our focus is on Osimhen being ready for the Fenerbahçe match. Our doctors are working on that,” he said.

Osimhen has been in excellent form since joining the Turkish champions, scoring nine goals in 12 league matches this season. His availability for the intercontinental derby would be a major boost for Okan Buruk’s side as they seek to maintain their title challenge.
