Galatasaray S.K. will be without Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen when they travel to face Konyaspor in their Turkish league fixture, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Turkish champions are returning to domestic action after an emphatic 5-2 victory in the UEFA Champions League play-off first leg at Rams Park in Istanbul.

However, head coach Okan Buruk will not be able to call on Osimhen for the clash against Konyaspor.

The Nigerian striker has been ruled out as a precaution after complaining of pain in his right knee.

“Victor Osimhen, who is complaining of pain in his right knee, has been withheld from the squad for the match against Konyaspor as a precaution,” the club said in a statement.

Despite the setback, the injury is not believed to be serious.

Osimhen is expected to return to action on Wednesday, February 25, when Galatasaray face Juventus F.C. in the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie.

The Nigerian international played a key role in the first leg triumph and will be hopeful of regaining full fitness in time to help his side secure qualification to the next round.
